On Monday Tesla engineers revealed their ventilator prototype designed to treat patients who have been infected with coronavirus and are in critical condition.
Tesla released the video in which they displayed two different prototypes composed of electric car parts that they have in large supply. This will allow them to quickly manufacture more ventilators without interfering with the supply chain of other manufacturers who are also developing medical equipment.
The prototype has yet to be tested and approved through different regulations, which may extend the timeline for the machines to be implemented. Yet, once they are approved Tesla will be able to help reach the demand for ventilators that have increased, as the number of cases surges closer to the expected peak within the next few days.
