Recently uncovered documents show that Planned Parenthood charged a biospecimen company for fetal tissue and maternal blood samples.
The invoices from 2012 show that Planned Parenthood made nearly $25,000 selling the samples. The documentation was unsealed as part of a lawsuit with a pro-life journalist whose undercover video prompted calls for an investigation of the organization. According to the information on the invoices, Planned Parenthood charged a company $55.00 per product of conception, another word used for fetal remains.
Planned Parenthood claims the invoices are to reimburse staff for transportation costs and time spent sending those remains, however, no mention of reimbursement is included in the documentation.
