Pelosi Moving Forward with Impeachment

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced Thursday morning that she would not hold the articles of impeachment for much longer.

She is planning to send the articles to the Senate when she is ready, stating that she needs to ensure firstly that the Senate will provide a fair trial for the impeachment process.  She said, “I’ll send them over when I’m ready.  And that will probably be soon.”

Last month the Democratic controlled House of Representatives charged President Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of justice.  Pelosi did not send over the articles of impeachment right away, as is accustomed, but rather held onto them until this point.

Democrats are hoping that the Senate will allow witnesses to testify, but the Senate has not confirmed whether they will or won’t yet.
