Kardashian Sister Praised as Feminist Icon for Showing Off Her 'Boob Stretch Marks'

Kylie Jenner, a member of the celebrity Kardashian family, received an outpouring of praise for displaying her stretch marks on Monday in an Instagram video.

Jenner, a 22-year-old makeup mogul and model, filmed herself "social distancing" beside the pool at one of her California mansions.
  • Although she made no mention of the stretch marks, fans spotted the faint scarring above her bikini top and declared it a feminist symbol.

"[Kylie Jenner] showing her boobs’ stretch marks and having no issue with it!!! you go girl," tweeted one of Jenner's 175 million followers.

Many female Twitter users said they personally felt empowered —  or at least relieved — to learn of Jenner's imperfect breasts.

"Knowing that Kylie has stretch marks on her boobs and is okay with them kinda makes me okay with my own," said another supporter.

"[Kylie Jenner] has stretch marks I can breathe now," said yet another.

Jenner, like her famous sisters, has previously been accused of promoting unrealistic beauty standards via self-enhancement, digital and otherwise. But fans were quick to forgive her past transgressions against second-wave feminist orthodoxy.

"Kylie showing her stretch marks on IG stories. That’s a nice change for the Kardashian/Jenner family," said one woman

"Kylie Jenner showing off her stretch marks unapologetically is growth," said another

In Q&A on Instagram last October, Jenner declared her acceptance of stretch marks on her breasts, butt and thighs as a result of her pregnancy. She said she considered them "a little gift from Stormi," her 2-year-old daughter with rapper Travis Scott.

Jenner is no stranger to "body positivity." In a 2015 Instagram post, she celebrated a scar on her leg, which she had previously said is the result of a childhood hide-and-seek accident.

GQ Magazine later featured the wound on the cover of its August 2018 issue.

Jenner has also been publicly supportive of Caitlyn Jenner, her Olympian father who came out as transgender in 2015.
