Buttigieg Drops out of Democratic Race

The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, drops out of the democratic presidential race two days before Super Tuesday.

On Sunday night, a day after candidate Joe Biden won South Carolina, Buttigieg announced he would be stepping out of the race. His decision to drop out before Super Tuesday has caught many by surprise.

After being one of the top two candidates in Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses, his quick rise came to a tumble in Nevada and South Carolina, where he fell to third place and fourth place, respectively. While his campaign focused on uniting Democrats on both ends of the spectrum, he struggled to win over the support of diverse communities.

His withdrawal narrows down the competition to six democratic candidates as they prepare for 14-state Super Tuesday.
