Bill Gates Resigns from Microsoft Board

Co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, announced his resignation from the tech giant company on Friday of last week.

Gates, the second wealthiest man in the world with a total net worth of $102 billion, announced he was stepping down from the board, yet not stepping away from the pioneering tech giant he and Paul Allen founded back in 1975. He began distancing from the company back in 2000 when he stepped down from CEO to the chairman.

He announced he would still serve as a tech advisor to the chief executive, Satya Nadella, and would shift his focus on his philanthropic work in areas such as global health, education, and climate change.
