AOC supports Sanders

Amid the race for the 2020 Presidency, three front runners continue to dominate the news cycle and garner the most attention among the candidates. Notable Democratic contenders include Senator Elizabeth Warren, Vice President Joe Biden, and Senator Bernie Sanders.
Senator Sanders is primarily known for his eccentric speeches and far-left policies, most of which have been adopted by fellow Democratic candidates as they all try and appeal to their leftist base.
Senator Sanders recently suffered a heart attack and underwent surgery, but despite his health scare, the 78 year old Vermont native held a rally in New York with his largest crowd to date. In recent weeks he has also fundraised more money for his campaign than any other Democrat.
At the rally, Sen. Sanders was introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a widely known freshman Member of the House who advocates for far-left issues. AOC recently endorsed Bernie Sanders, and the two align on numerous progressive political issues.
The timing of Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement is particularly unique, as she proclaimed her full-fledged support for Senator Sanders when Senator Elizabeth Warren claimed the title of front-runner in the polls. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement also paints a sharp contrast to Warren’s policies.
The Democratic candidates still have numerous debates to come, but the early support of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez benefits Sanders in his quest to gain the lead in the polls.
